2 RUSKIN SQUARE

May 16 2021

Ambar Kelly’s patented system RiserSafe® will feature on a striking new development for Stanhope PLC in the heart of the reimagined Croydon, south London.

Ruskin Square is a sleek 2 million sq. ft business, residential and leisure quarter that will put Croydon firmly on the map as one of the best places to live, work and play in the capital. Phase 1, delivered in 2016, is a stunning office and residential space designed by shedkm and AHMM respectively. Ambar Kelly is working on the second phase, Building Two, of Ruskin Square designed by architects AHMM and structural engineers Arup.

Ambar Kelly received an order for 225 RiserSafe® units from steel frame contactor William Hare. The specialist was selected for this project because of its positive working relationship with principal contractor Lendlease, a company that understands the importance of taking a holistic approach to riser zone design.

An innovative system, RiserSafe® forms and seals riser floor openings in one action, eliminating falls from height and preventing the passage of smoke and flame in the event of fire. RiserSafe® has a fire resistance of 1000°C for 1.5 hours protection as tested and validated by BRE.

The specification of Ambar Kelly’s RiserSafe® on Building Two of the Ruskin Square development will offer a complete riser zone solution that accommodates all package interfaces in absolute safety. It will ensure the building performs well into its future as a key office space in one of London’s up and coming commercial areas.
